Am Samstag 12. Oktober 2019 fand bei dem Karlsruher Stadtfest das „Kick the Beat“ Breaking Battle statt. Place to be war der Kronenplatz. Sechzehn gesetzte Tänzer, B-Boys und B-Girls genannt, traten im 1 vs 1 Battle an. Tänzer aus dem Süddeutschen Netzwerk des Combo standen in der Stadtfest „Kick the Beat“ Edition im Vordergrund.  Teilnehmer aus Bretten, Stuttgart, Rastatt, Baden-Baden, Backnang und natürlich aus Karlsruhe waren vertreten. Zusätzlich hatten wir Akteure aus Berlin und Straßburg im Line Up.

Platz 3 teilen sich B-Boy Deffect aus Freiburg mit B-Boy Nimi aus Baden-Baden. Im Finale standen sich Flo aus Berlin und Bobby Balboa aus Karlsruhe gegenüber. Die drei Judges, B-Girl Banjana aus Stuttgart von den Skill Sisters, B-Boy Lek von Directors Cut aus Baden-Baden und B-Boy Karim aus Straßburg entschieden sich für Flo von der Crew „Face of Berlin“ als Champ von Kick the Beat 2019.  Neben etwas cash für den Sieger gab es Leinwände als Trophäen. Und ein ordentliches Paket von unserem jahrelangen supporter Montana Cans.

Angepeitscht durch die Beats von Originill und der Moderation von Sung-Goku über den ganzen Tag, war der Kronenplatz „full“.  BMX Show´s von Chris Böhm und Customize your Shirt Aktion von Farbfehler gab es am Kronenplatz obendrauf.

Dank des soliden Wetters und dem zentralen Platz konnten sich über den Tag hinweg einige Tausende Besucher an Urbaner Kultur erfreuen.

#insider Kick the Beat 2019 wurde innerhalb eines Monates geplant und umgesetzt.
Wir bekamen die Anfrage ob wir uns als Combo Hip Hop Kulturzentrum in das Stadtfest involvieren würden. In persönlichen Gesprächen mit Andreas Preissler wurde ein Plan und Möglichkeiten entwickelt. Wir schreiben dass an dieser Stelle, da unsere Erfahrungen mit der einen oder anderen Institution gemischt sind. In diesem Fall möchten wir die positive Zusammenarbeit und Ausführung des Projektes betonen.  Die Kooperation zwischen P&P, der Szene, Teilnehmer, Farbschall e.V.  und der Stadt Karlsruhe verlief reibungslos.

Für die erste Durlach Art am 6. September 2019, wurde das Team Combo angefragt, zur Eröffnung eine Fläche auf dem Marktplatz zu gestalten. Die Fläche bestehend aus Trägermaterial sollte am Ende für den guten Zweck versteigert werden.

Man entschied sich für ein, Objekt bestehend aus zwölf einzelnen Leinwände. Jedes Element besaß die Maße 1m auf 1m. Am Ende ein Gesamtbild und gleichermaßen individuelle funktionierende Einzelbilder. Mit Unterstützung der mobilen Jugendarbeit Karlsruhe sowie der lokalen Heads Moter.One, SuperSoker, Red Rock und setzten die zwei Maler, Baske ToBeTrue und Gregor Lau das Projekt um.

Am Eröffnungsabend der Durlach Art wurden die zwölf Leinwände auf dem Marktplatz versteigert. Der beachtliche Ertrag aus der Auktion kam dem Durlacher SELBST e.V. zugute.

Das Team Combo erteilt Prädikat „Gute Zusammenarbeit und soziale Aktion“.

Last saturday the NL Contest in Straßbourg / France went down. A international festival around urban culture. Beside music, art, food  and drinks, the main events are competitions in roller,  bmx, skate, bmx, scooter, streetball and  breakin.

The breakin battle format was a 1vs1 Kids and a 2vs2 Adults.  A couple of crews as well as mixed teams like  Chau-Lin ( Tru Cru) with Cro ( From Downtown) and Bboy Stuart from Venezuela with Bgirl Kepsa from Mexico participated at NL Contest. B-Girl Kepsa from Mexico City is on Europe tour.  At the moment she is resident at Combo.

Bboy Pac Pac and Bboy Sweet from Bad Trip Crew (Lyon/Paris) took the Win in an amazing Final against Chau-Lin and Cro. Shout out to Sope Lo and the whole Team of NL  for organizing a dope event.

Our friend „Hombre Montero“ accompanied Kepsa and the boys from Tru Cru with his camera. Thanks to him we can show you some nice captures from the battles.

Unreal! This word and his meaning transalted into several languages. This is what we got as feedback from audience, participants and line up. Unreal is for us to get this kind of feedback. Dont get it wrong. We are really happy and thankfull we can build up and provide for the culture. And we know what we did. But we just scratched the surface. There is so much more potential if people work together and contribute with positive energy like we experience it from so many at Combo Nation Europe.

Haltestelle Nummer 3 im Rahmen des vom Karlsruhe Gemeinderat und der Kunstkommission verabschiedete Konzept „Graffiti-Art in Karlsruhe“.  Die KVV hat die Überlegung verschieden Haltestellen im Raum Karlsruhe durch Graffiti, Street Art gestalten und aufwerten zu lassen.  Die beteiligten Graffiti- Künstler an der August Bebel Haltestelle: Sier, Moter.One, Baske ToBeTrue und Super Soker.

In Farben des Corporate Design der Stadt Karlsruhe sind nebst Straßenbahnen, dem Karlsruher Stadtgründer und seinem Schloss die folgenden Persönlichkeiten abgebildet:

Im Rahmen des vom Karlsruhe Gemeinderat und der Kunstkommission verabschiedete Konzept „Graffiti-Art in Karlsruhe“ stellte das Kulturamt der Stadt Karlsruhe im Juni 2016 Kontakt zwischen der KVV und dem Combo Hip Hop Kulturzentrum her. Die KVV hat die Überlegung verschieden Haltestellen im Raum Karlsruhe durch Graffiti, Street Art gestalten und aufwerten zu lassen.

Das Team Combo geht mit traditionellem Inhalten in Zeitgemäßer Bildsprache an die Projekte. Graffiti, Street Art Technik und Elemente mit Darstellung von Menschen die in der Stadt oder aus der Stadt kommend etwas bewegt haben. Die Künstler aus dem Combo wählen diese Auseinandersetzung als Form der öffentlichen Diskussion und der Identifikation mit der Stadt im Gewand der Gegenwart.

Nun wurde die Kurt Schumacher Haltestellen fertig gestellt. Die Graffiti- Künstler Sier, Moter.One, Baske ToBeTrue, Abyz One, Super Soker und Alu und ein Team von Helfern nahmen sich der Haltestelle an.

A bunch of Graffiti Writers from Combo went to the area of BCN / Barceloan to enjoy some days and exchange with local heads.
The boy Meta shoot some analog black and white pictures of the trip. They came out quit nice. So we thought we will show you some of it.

Battle You 2018 was a great day. Not only we had a really sunny and feel good weather, we also had a lot of new kids and a bunch of Rookies that went down on the floor.

10 Teams with each 2 Dancers compete on the Kids section. We had a nice Final with Two Minjazz vs Break City Breakaz. In a dramatic final Two Minjazz won in the tiebreak.
13 Teams battled for the customised trophies and the Rookie Title of Battle You 2018. The Final was Team Classix vs Egal Crew. Hooray to Team Classix for getting the win. Well deserved.

Before you look at all the nice pics done by our teamate Paul Gärtner, we would like to thank the teachers of all the young guns,  all the parents that stand behind there kids. We also say thanks to our judges panel, B-Girl Thai Break, B-Boy Danik-Sun, b-Boy Bobby Balboa , our music deliverer DJ Big W and our fantastic Host Sung-Goku.  And big shout out to all the graffiti writers that challenged the heat and brought us the right flavour of visuall language to merge with the body language of the dancers. Hip Hop Culture at his best.

Battle You 2018 / // Kids & Rookie Battle // Sonntag 1. Juli 2018 // 15 – 20 Uhr

Das 2 vs 2 Battle für die jungen wilden B-Boys und B-Girls der Region. Sonntag der 1. Juli 2018 im Combo Hip Hop Kulturzentrum Karlsruhe. Eintritt und Teilnahme frei.
Rookie interpretieren wir als jemand der noch nicht allzu viel Erfahrung hat oder denkt das er sie noch nicht hat. Der Begriff soll für die erfahrenen Tänzer das Signal sein das dieses Battle als Spotlight für Nachwuchs, Beginner, Frischlinge sein soll. Kids Kategorie geht bis und incl. 14 Jahren. Rookies ab 15 Jahren ohne Altersbeschränkung. Wenn jemand viel älter ist und erst seit kurzem tanzt oder wenig Erfahrung hat, sehen wir das auch als Roockie.

Anmeldung direkt vor Ort um 14 Uhr.
