Since 2016 we do in Karlsruhe the 1 vs.1 European breakin qualifier for ComboNation in Kazan Russia. In february 2019 we did a qualifier for b-boys and b-girls. The winner was B-Boy Light of Tru Cru and B-Girl Thai-Break from Gorilla Legion. As the two are part oft the Team Combo family and Baske ToBeTrue was asked to judge the graffiti battle in Kazan. We decided to build a travell team to visit the Russian breaking and graffiti culture event on his 11th Edition in april 2019.
Seven heads had to check passport, clear visa, flights, transportation, accomodation and budget for one week in the the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. And the rest is history. Or as we say: Legends of tomorrow.
All in all it was a really inspiring trip. A lot of new impressions in every aspect of life and culture. Too much to write in a single blog post.
We met many from the russian breaking and graffiti scene. Saint Petersburg (special shout out tot he Original Good Crew), Rostov, Moscow, Siberia, Perm, our beloved bratiya and sestry from Krasnodar, from all corners of the country.
Also guests from all over the world like New Dehli, India (Shout out to DMC), Venezuela, Netherlands, France, Japan and so on where in the place to be.
We can not say it enough, seven days packed with exchange and new impressions. We propably need a lightyear or two to reflect everything.
We want to thank the local Organisation of Combo Nation and all the volunteers there.

Vor ca. einem Jahr hatten wir zum ersten mal Besuch von einem Graffiti- Maler aus Krasnodar, Rußland. Gooze kahm damals ins Combo um sich ein Bild des Kulturzentrum zu machen und eine Wand mit Baske zu malen. Siehe hier: http://team-combo.de/from-krasnodar-to-karlsruhe/ Im Oktober 2014 fand der Gegenbesuch statt. Baske und Flex Holik reisten in die Karlsruher Partnerstadt. Vor Ort wurde die örtliche Graffiti und B-Boy Szene kennengelernt. http://team-combo.de/team-combo-in-krassnodar-russia/
Nun führte es Gooze wieder in die Fächerstadt. Diesmal bemalten Gooze und Baske eine Fläche an der Alb / Kühler Krug. Das Ergebnis sieht ihr hier:
Krasnodar in Russland und Karlsruhe in Deutschland, was haben die beide Städte gemeinsam?
Bewohner der jeweiligen Orte dürfte bekannt sein, dass sie Partnerstädte sind.
Eine Gemeindepartnerschaft (auch Jumelage bzw. Städtepartnerschaft) ist eine Partnerschaft zwischen zwei Städten oder Gemeinden mit dem Ziel, sich kulturell und wirtschaftlich auszutauschen. Internationale kommunale Partnerschaften werden außerdem als Plattform genutzt, um Demokratisierungsprozesse in Staaten zu unterstützen, in denen Rechtsstaatlichkeit und Freiheit noch nicht als erreicht angesehen werden („kommunale Außenpolitik“).

Ne tolle Sache finden wir das!
Noch toller finden wir, dass vor einigen Tagen der Grundstein gelegt worden ist, das in Bezug auf Hip Hop Kultur auszuarbeiten. Gooze aus Krasnodar war zu Besuch im Combo Hip Hop Kulturzentrum und hat mit Baske ein Wändchen am selbigen Ort gestaltet. Es wurde aber nicht nur zusammen eine Wand gemalt, sondern auch direkt über Projekte für die Zukunft gesprochen, die Maler sowie auch Tänzer involvieren sollen. Wir werden sehen wohin uns das führt. Erst mal führt es vorrausichtlich eine kleine Delegation des Combo im Herbst nach Krasnodar, um die Städtepartnerschaft zu vertiefen.
